Today’s latest addition is an incredible woman who not only wrote a book about her experience, but also developed a web site with a goal of reaching out to other and preventing them from falling into the same traps she had with her former husband.
Donna Andersen is a freelance writer from Atlantic City, New Jersey whose background is journalism. Donna studied at the S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and was the first editor of Atlantic City Magazine. She has operated Donna Andersen Copywriting, Inc. since 1982.
Her web site, Love Fraud.com, is the direct result of her personal experience with a a man Donna married named James Alwyn Montgomery, originally from Sydney, Australia. He surrounded himself with the trappings of credibility—military uniforms and documents, photos of himself with famous people, enough paperwork to create a fire hazard.
He presented himself as the accomplished and connected entrepreneur who would soon have the two of them living in “the lap of luxury”—if she would help him. Donna not only married James, but also supported many of his “businesses,” which turned out to be scams that he was also conning other women to do the same.
Upon discovering Montgomery was cheating on her, Donna left the marriage, but it wasn’t long after when she began to discover the enormous extent of his deception after going through papers he’d left behind and calling some of the “other women.” She would later tell her story on Who the (Bleep) Did I Marry?
In addition to the Love Fraud web site, Donna has written two books, the original Love Fraud, which tells of Donna’s marriage to Montgomery and her spiritual journey, and her upcoming book, Red Flags of Love Fraud — 10 signs you’re dating a sociopath, set for Spring 2012 release in both print and ebook versions.
