Author Profile: Mike Shuck

In addition to being author of the well-acclaimed Numbers Elementary: Rounding, Mike Shuck teaches fifth grade at Fred L. Aiken Elementary School in the Keystone Oaks School District, located in Pittsburgh, PA.

He is a Pittsburgh native and graduate of South Fayette High School. He continued on to college at Duquesne University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Education, graduated cum laude, and a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society. Mike attended graduate school at Gannon University, where he earned his Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

After college, Mike spent a few years teaching in Florida at Colson Elementary, but soon followed his roots back to his hometown of Pittsburgh where he’s been teaching ever since. As a dedicated teacher and a hard worker, he is well-liked, well-rounded and an inspiration to all who know him.

In addition to being an established teacher and published children’s author, Mike enjoys weight lifting, personal training, and racquetball – and he plays a mean game of cornhole! He is a die hard Steeler fan, and his hobbies include carpentry and spending time with his family, friends, dog, and his wife, Ashley Boynes-Shuck.
