Thinking about getting an e-reader to store all of your favorite books as well as save some room in your backpack this upcoming school year? Ereaders are the future in reading, with sales doubling in the last year alone.
The top three ereaders chosen by Consumer Reports’ to get your money’s worth were the Nook Simple Reader, Kindle Wi-Fi and the Kobo eReader Touch.
Consumer Reports tested several ereader devices in many areas, including back lighting, anti-glare screens, and speed of page turning on each ereader. The aforementioned three ereaders scored highest in all of Consumer Reports’ tests.
Though the Nook Simple Reader, Kindle Wi-Fi, and Kobo eReader Touch may be pricey, Kindle Wi-Fi is available in a lower priced model from $114. However, the less expensive devices contain advertising.
Whatever you choose, happy reading in the 2011 school year – and beyond.
